Trees in urban environments are unique entities, and this is especially evident in New York City where I conducted this project. As a form of plant life, they retain a sense of absolute freedom that originates from nature. Compared to herbaceous plants, trees have a long lifespan, enabling them to engage in an extended dialogue with the city around them. This dialogue manifests at the root level of the trees, where their unrestrained growth contends with the orderly infrastructure of the city. In my photographs, I have captured both elements of this order and freedom, aiming to present the conflict between orderliness and freedom within the urban context of New York City.
